Is it for real or is it photoshop?

Mark,
When I bought my R1100RT (and sold my K100RT) I said, "This is my last bike". Then I said, "No, I really mean it, my last bike!"

So just stop it, stop it, stop it! Stop tempting me you miserable man!

(I knew I shouldn't have test rode a K1200R at Beemerville - I knew it. And now they are putting that engine & transmission in a fully faired touring bike. AAARRGHH!)

I am going to go and have a good cry now.

Thanks Mark, thanks alot,

Steve

Nice looking bike. It's sort of a matte finish.... I like that.

I really think it's Photoshopped. The side panels are really plain, which certainly isn't in keeping with BMW's current designs.

I would say Digitally Retouched as the side panels do not have the same highlights from the lighting as the other surfaces, even if they are matte/flat.

The photos are bound to be close at least. It's like a 1200R with a faring.

I've always liked the GT, but wonder if it's as comfortable as an RT ( comparing the new hexhead ) for long distance. Anyone have the chance to compare the current GT with an RT for comfort and size? No arguments for power and handling, but I've always perceived the GT to be a little larger making it better for riding two up, however the seats are looking more like something from Japanese sport bike here. Surely the rear passenger won't sit two feet higher than the rider like we see riding on sport bikes.

I'd like to consider buying one, but besides handling, it's got to go the distance.

Kind of butt ugly, looks like a battering ram and the panels look like something made in a backyard shed. Geez only 650 pounds, now that is a true GT machine.

It really makes you wonder why they did not release the bike at the Paris show. They could still be working on the design, looks, or might even be having problems with the ignition mapping, as with the K1200S. The faring seems out of place. At any rate, if this is true photo, BMW is undergoing radical redesign for all the models. Last year I was going to buy a R1150RT to replace my '97 R1100R. Now I'm beginning to think It may be wise to wait for a year or two until the dust settles.
