I bought my 1150 Rt about seven months ago. Since I have been through the stock seat, a Corbin and now a Sargent. I really like the bike but can't ride more than a hour or so without my butt killing me. I really like the bike----but if I can get a comfortable seat, it will have to go. Any suggestions, anybody like to trade something for a brand new Sargent----

Comfort for over an hour involves more than the seat, in my experience. You have gone through several, perhaps it is time to look at the bars and your legs.

The bars could have you seated in an awkward position that ends up putting to much weight on your butt to be comfortable. Because you have a fairing it does not show up as strain on your arms or shoulders.

Your feet and legs are the other area to consider. Are your legs carrying their fair share of the weight? To low or to high and again you end up carrying too much weight focused on the butt and saddle.

Think of it as spreading the weight out appropriately over three areas the hands and arms, the seat and finally the legs. With this many changes in saddles I am left to wonder it the other two are doing what you want and need them to do.

Try an Airhawk or perhaps a sheepskin or beaded seat cover.

I can only say I had a similar problem with the stock saddle only the pain would set in after 3 or 4 hours and not just after 1 hour. Yikes ! I switched to a Bill Mayer saddle and it's been a big improvement for sure.

I also find riding with the seat in the high position will cause less fatigue.

Don't give up on your RT. If you can make it comfortable, there's nothing like it.

you've done the off the rack seats, maybe it's time to try a custom seat by either one of the mayer bros, or a russell seat which was designed by their dad. they will ask for different measurements and pics of you on your bike. this way they can determine your reach to the bars and leg to peg position. better yet, if you live nearby any of them, you can actually go there and have the seat fitted to you. wish you well.
