No worries.

Contact your dealer. He/she should have the code.

Prepare to show documentation proving you own the bike, unless you have a pretty close relationship with your dealer. Things ain't what they used to be.

And when you get the code, write it down in your owner's manual. (I'd check to see if it's there already, too).

You don't have at least two, I've got one hidden on my bike incase the primary goes over the bridge someday.

Ahh the shame... :p

Any dealer can order the key (or locks) in code if provided with the proper proof of ownership. You need the vin and matching registration and picture ID.
The earlier bikes like the K1100, 100, R100 etc. don't seem to have any history of key codes in the system anymore. So if you only have one key and don't have the little tag with the key code on it or know it, you really should have a couple of keys made now.
The keys in code for the later bikes R1100, K1200 etc. are around $25 in code and the Can Bus bikes keys in code (with the chip) are around $60.

Contrast that with ~ $3.00 at any good locksmith's if you HAVE the code, you see why it's important to write that baby down when you get a new bike.

Having a few bikes and a propensity for losing/forgetting things, a system that works for me is writing code in owner's manual, like I said, but I also have a "master" key ring with the original keys and code tags from ALL my bikes in a central location. I use the "spare keys" for day to day use.
