Been up in NJ at Ft. Monmouth for training in SA security the past 2 weeks and staying right on the beach. Been cool and we had a big blow go thru the past 2 days but all in all not a bad time of year for being at the beach, crowds are gone and its nice and quiet most of the time.

So here are just a few pics from the beach. These were culled from around the 400 plus Ive taken, most in the first week. Played around with my 1.4 tele-extender and 300 MM lens for a total of around 440 MM on my Nikon D70 DSLR

My grandfather worked at Ft Monmouth for 20 years. I grew older (not up) in Oakhusrt, so welcome to my old stomping grounds.

Very Cool. I stopped over there a number of times back in the 60's on my way to Thailand where my family was stationed back then for 4 years. Jeanne and I are going for a week in 07. Jeanne wants to see a volcano up close, i want to visit the observatories. Can't wait!
enjoy your stay.

Some cool shots there RM. I especially like the sunset clouds.

I missed one of the most spectacular sunsets this week. We'd had a heavy
cloud cover and the sunset was just starting to poke through. Within the
last few minutes, the sun dropped below the clouds turning the East Bay
hills a beautiful warm orange. Stark gray clouds sunlit warm hills (they're
still brown). And there I was playing softball in a artificially lit park watching
this without a camera...
