As I continue through the restoration of my '82 R65LS, I plan on tackling the front brake system this winter. My plans calls for removing the entire system, cleaning lines and MC, rebuilding calipers, adding new pads, etc. My biggest problem now centers on the rotors. As I run my fingers over the discs, I can feel obvious peaks and valleys. The brakes work, but with much screeching and grapping, so I know that all is not well. My trusty Clymers indicates that the rotors cannot be trued, only replaced. If this is indeed true, then I must consider the purchase of new rotors. I see that EBC offers replacement rotors at a reasonable! price. Do any readers have experience with these EBC replacements and can offer a opinion?

Thanks,

I replaced mine last year with an EBC I got from Dennis Kirk. It requires grinding the old rivets off the old one and re-using the hub. I would recommend it, if you don't mind the job.

Have EBC floating rotors on both RS and RT. They were plug and play, no assembly required.
