did anyone else catch this article, its in this month's issue of BIKE (GREAT UK mag) that pitted the K1200S against a Hyabusa, Blackbird and ZX12R (i think)????

i though the article put the BMW in a bad light, mainly due to the rider's lack of familiarity with the bike/brand. claiming "rock solid cornering and braking" but at the same time saying the bike feels completly detached due to things like the duo-lever and whatnot..............they also said the fit and finish were terrible, which i'm suprised at. they gave the hyabusa top marks and i've never considered that anything but a drag bike. i was sorta suprised due to the fact that this magazine, while catering to the sportbike enthusiast, is generaly very balanced in its testing, and has given other models (like the 1200RT) very good reviews before..............

Saw it and understand what you are saying.

Bikes are a bit like people. There are some you date and some you marry. BMWs seem to fall into the latter category. A BMW once really married to its pilot can strut thier stuff with any other couple. :german

the 'busa has never been a good bike for a technical course. in straight line acceleration and long sweepers it shines. is that the I O M?

i can't recall, i read the article quckly at B&N to avoid buying the magazine, they said the new busa performed very well in the corners, the only complaint they seemed to have was the low windscreen...............

The course is basically one lap of the island, so it has a mixture of city streets and high speed mountain course roads. I think a lap is like 37 miles.
