Has anyone here purchased a Russel Day Long saddle for their 1200GS? I'm thinking of getting one and I'm wondering how the fit, finish and comfort is like? Customer service? Accurate schedules or long delays? Any sliding on the crotch issues? Pics? Your input is appreciated.

I did a drive in Sept. 1st of this year. BUT I have an 1150 GS. I can respond to fit, finish, customer service, scheduels, and comfort.

I have a little over 5k on mine now and I can't say enough good things about it. Last week I did 275 miles after work and then a 600 mile day followed by 2 500 mile days and finished with 375 miles by 1 in the afternoon. I simply don't take breaks because of butt aches anymore. I had about 5/8 of an inch of shims under the front of the stock seat to keep from sliding forward and I rode on an Air Hawk. I still took 3 or 4 breaks a day for butt breaks. The folks at Russell and I discussed how my old seat felt and they went to work. Did a few trial fittings and then when I was happy with the foam work they made the cover.

They truely are great people to work with. The place has that old time craftsmanship and pride in making the customer happy. I had intended to buy all leather but they said in some cases leather tends to streach and wrinkle on the side panels and thought I'd be happier with a leather top and vinyl sides. That, by the way, saved me a few tanks worth of gas by selling me a less expensive product. Just a class act all around. All schedueled times were right on time or early. Hope this helps. :bikes

I also have an 1150 GSA with a Russell Day-long and after an 8K ride this summer I can definitely say that everything is great from comfort to the experience of buying it. They are a top class outfit with great customer focus. Probably a really good investment for you if you want to ride for long distance or time. If you like off-roading though, keep a standard seat around (I bought an old one from e-bay) since the Russell is a little too wide for dirt bike trail riding.
