Last month, while headed two up to the Beemer Bash in Quincy, California; we hit a hole on route 120 a few miles west of Tuolumne Meadows. It took out 10 spokes on the R90/6 rear wheel. That's 25% of the spokes. The tire started rubbing the sidewall on the drive shaft taking the first ply from our Me88. It only has two ply on the sidewall. I notified the US forestry of this hazard. "RIDERS BEWARE THIS HAZARD". :violin
I called MTS (motorcycle towing service) and the dispatcher said: no tow because we had used the service within the last 90 days (on a round trip from California to Quebec, Canada). :deal This isn't in their fine print anywhere. :deal
We lucked out and two days later we made it to the Bash after calling fellow riders who went out of their way to deliver a tire and spokes to us. What a great club we have. :clap I had /6 parts spread all over the parking lot at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge.
Does anybody have any idea what the roadside assistance plan is that comes with our platinum membership package? I can't find anything about it on our site. Maybe I'm not looking in the correct cubby? Is this roadside plan any good?
