I started my bike up this morning to warm up and everything was fine, ran in the house to grab something, and the headlight was off. I thought the bulb was out, no bright or dim, but the flash to pass lights up and works fine.If it were night and I was on the road I could of held the flash to pass and made it home. Then I noticed that the fuel and temp gauges quit also.
I filled it up last night and the gauge was working then. Are the gauges and headlamp on the same circuit?

Turn signals, speedo/tach, 12v outlet, horn all work fine and the bike runs fine.

The fuses LOOK ok, havn't replaced any of them yet.

Any ideas or explanations?

Seems to be unrelated coincidence.
I got the headlights going after cleaning the switch up a little. The gauges still are out. I'll dive into that tommorow.
I suspect if I'll find it fuse related, although they look ok, one may be fried behind the visible part.

Donno about the guages part, but if your headlight came back after "cleaning the switch", you should consider installing a headlight relay! As the bike ages, the power going to the headlight through those switch contacts really eats up the switch. If you install relays, you'll never have that problem. There are some good articles on the relay solution, and the one that I got was from "Eastern Beaver"--piece of cake to install--truly plug 'n play.

It is actually Jim Davis. You might want to check IBMWR. If I find his info I will forward it to you....
