OK, I'm teased! photobucket.com is FREE. Is that a R100S on the left? I like the tall screen.

The bike is a plain R100 w/ a S fairing. The wind screen is Parabellum (on both bikes)

Bob, what's the name of that highway behind you. Just want to know so I can put it on my 'Never Ride This Road' list. :brow
Is that thing straight or what? :laugh 2

There are still people who tour on airheads? Interesting.

Well duh. They can go down the road at 70 all day and not break a sweat. Lots of 300,000 mile bikes in existance. That is the reputation they are riding on now.
Looks like they may be trying to get the speed respect back again too. I just hope they hold together...

Gail, I guess I'll have to get my 71 R50/5, 74 R90/6, 82 R100 police, or the 83 R80ST and go for a ride. Barry

I have an '84 ST and I really like it. It has soft bags on the hard bag mounts, and will carry everything needed to tour easily. I just want to go over it really well, before going any distance on it.

Alright! Enough already. At least you didn't post anymore bike porn for me to drool over. I always wanted a R80RT but I'm thinking a blue 90's R100RT might be tempting. The little girl needs a big brother...

Dang Gale, I don't know how they can confuse us? After all I have K bikes and you have R bikes. :D

I've got mine apart. Did the heads a couple years ago, when I did a lot of head work for Memphis Motorwerks. I loaned 'em back to to them for their display at the RA National in Shelbyville. I've also got a new set of BMW bags and the BMW windshild kit for it. I'm real excited about geting it back together. I just signed up to get on the ST riders web site tonight. See you on the road or at one of the many BMW rallies. Barry.

Yeah, I've been on a road very much like that going North out of West TX, and some others here and there. That's like I-80 from NV into UT along the salt flats, "BORING"
What's the name of that one too, I need to create a list of roads to avoid... :D

Watch out for low flying airplanes :D
Here's my pitch for smugmug. I believe the MOA has a offer for a
discount too.
Smugmug has an annual fee. You can load as much or little as you like for
that fee. If you post original sizes, not only will the original be available to
you but also several other sizes--automatically. Sharing images or equally
important, making galleries private is a snap. Their print services are pretty
good. Linking pictures into e-mails or forums (like this one) is a piece of
cake--especially given the various sizes. Customer support is good and
forums are available (regardless of whether you use smugmug or not) to
help you with your pictures.
Some free photo sharing sites will close your account if you do not purchase
some amount of prints from them. Sometimes without warning--if you use
the service to store pictures, they will be lost. Smugmug also offers you
the option of a backup DVD.
Bottom line is that for the money, I don't think you can find any better
photo sharing service.
You can find out more at www.smugmug.com or www.dgrin.com.

Whattdayamean?!! Course there are, I got 140K on my 78 R100/7 (120K in the last 5 years) many of those miles on weeked or longer rides all over the east coast. Met many others on similar machines (airheads) that have many more long distance miles than me. No reason whatsoever that you can't ride just as far, just as long etc on an airhead as you can on any modern bike. heck, my 78 IS my "new" bike! :laugh
Sure they may not be as luxurious as the modern machines, but as far as reliablely getting you where you want to go, I never hesitate to just head out and ride all weekend or longer.

I-40 between W.Memphis and N.Little Rock Ar.. I have a BIG tolerance for boring streches of highway, but I have run that one stretch of road so much, it really gets old. The only good thing about it is it leads to great roads in the Ozarks and Ouachita Mnts. Barry

I've got four airheads, all keepers. Road well over 100,000 on my '74, and will continue to do so. Just checking to see if there are Airhead riders like me out there. Rocketman, see you on the road or one of the rallies in future. Barry
