Roadster/Rockster friends:

I bought one of those luggage plates two years ago for my Roadster, and I can't stand riding with it. I need something to press my butt against when I ride, so I keep a BMW OEM comfort pillion seat on the bike all the time. If I had a duffel bag there, it would provide the same support when I press back, but I know that when I unload my cargo at a camp or hotel, I will have nothing back there. So I never use the plate, even when strapping a load on the bike.

I was thinking of having a seat maker install a padded lip on the front edge somehow.

Does anyone love these things?

Fred,
I have one, but I only use it for traveling with my camping gear on the back seat. It feels odd when there is nothing there, and I have trouble fitting my manual, tools, and flat tire repair kit under that seat plate. I do like the fact that my luggage is a couple of inches lower, and easier to swing my leg over.
