how strange, i left on my x-country extravaganza a year ago this week (10/4) and our "third wheel" John (yellow duc 748) who left our trip due to mechanical and other obligations about half way through just sent me a boat load of photos i've never seen, so i'll share them with you:
imagine going from massachusetts to arizona on that yellow duc, packed the way it was (only blew open once):

aw, beloved airhead, how i miss thee:

my friend rob and i, anonymous book out, sun setting, no help in sight, sigh:

you can just see my head here, i'm so lazy, everyone else is up and packing and i'm holding up the show by sleeping under the bikes:

i guess everyone has their own ideas on how to "pack":

people in the midwest be weird, here we are in nebraska, with light beams shooting out of the heavens and unleaded the same price as mid-grade:

everyone likes dogs, right, well, not me, and this one didn't help bolster my feelings towards them, sure, he looks cute, but this creature had the worst gas of any animal i've ever encountered. other than that, colorado springs was goregous and our hosts were very gracious (unfortunatley, i cant say the same of their dog)

well, last one, me staring awe struck at you rocky mountainer's magestic mountains, i sorta considered this the half-way point of the trip (although we were only 16 days into a 60+ day journey) the next few weeks would involve extended stays in tuscon and LA, so the riding around the mountains was amazing, as was the 3 weeks after LA, on the PCH and elsewhere. for anyone that hasn't, take a long trip, leave your cares behind, do it cheap, rely on the hospitality of others, meet people and DONT do the touristy things, i really learned a lot about people on this trip, some good, some bad, but all made for a great story.
