Good Evening All,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good shop in the NW corner of Oregon? I'm not above riding to Portland or even to Eugene to go to the dealer, I just wondered if there might be a better place. I need to replace the steering head bearing on my '88 K100RS. I don't suppose anyone in the area would like to show me how to do it? I'll certainly buy a case of your favorite beverage!
And while we're on the topic of NW Oregon, anyone know who rides a blue K75(?) in Astoria? This might sound like a vague question (who knows Bubba in Arkansas?), but Astoria is a SMALL town so I figure someone might know!
Chris

BTW- Ever wonder what the word Pooh-Bah meant? You should look it up, rather entertaining since that is what our new Pres has for his custom user title! I think it should be Grand Poo-Bah! :D

You are in Luck for what you seek. Steve Prokop in Dundee Or.

He has been working on and restoring Beemers for over 25 years. He is one of the good guys who do the job right the first time. And he is always busy, so make an appointment well in advance of when you want it done. I highly recommend him

What he said. Steve is THE person to see about your bike. If you need service sooner, the new shop in Eugene is building a solid reputation.

If you want to save some money, you can pull the stem yourself and just bring that and the top doo-hickey(technical term) in. Any shop should be able to get the old bearings off and the new bearings in. You, of course, would have to take care of the races.

Thanks Bob!
Do any of you guys know if any of these shops around here have an "Octoberfest"? Back on the other coast most of the larger shops always had an Octoberfest where they had a cookout, demo rides, etc. I havn't seen anything advertised, it seems all the riding around here died in the month of September!

Blame the rain.

But if you're interested in a little riding, perhaps you'd be interested in this (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7690).
