What's going on with the Main Forum? [Archive]

"They" must be working on the forum(s) because the only thing listed under main forums is the rally forum. There was a lot more. :confused:

I logged on and there was only the rally forum under main forum. After posting this message the list expanded. Something's not working consistantly. :dunno

Just found out what is going on. Cookies !!! Previously the cookie was slt.bmwmoa.org. Now it is www.bmwmoa.org.

I turn off cookies and maintain a list if exceptions. Why? Because some sites use cookies to gather information which I feel is none of their business. Google and Yahoo! are prime examples, in my opinion.

Cookies on this site are okay, so far.

Yeah, we don't do anything with the cookies but use them to allow the forum to know who you are. That's helpful for keeping track of what you've read so the New Posts thing works.

We're not looking at them to see where you went from here or anything at all.

A couple of days ago the forum completely forgot my username and password. Is it possible that my Norton antivirus or Spysweeper automatically deleted the appropriate cookies? This is the first time that this has happened.

That could definitely be the case. Something ditched the cookie on your machine for this forum. You may want to add www.bmwmoa.org to your list of safe domains. I'm not sure if you have control over those things in Spysweeper.

For about 3 days this week I could not get past the main forum...it would just freeze when I clicked the forums...back to normal now....gremlins I guess.
