I just replaced my right side heated grip on my R1150 GS. Everything works fine except now my throttle lock doesnt work. Did I miss a step somewhere?
I would appreciate any feedback I can get.
Thanks in advance.

I moved this over to Oilheads where it'll see some attention.

If it's a Throttle MeisterŪ, you might need to take it apart and re-do the shims.

I just assumed it was a stock BMW lock. The weight on the end of the handlebar screws clockwise to tighten and counter to release. I can see the portion that is suppose to contact the end of the grip is not reaching. While installing the new griip I didnt notice any adjustment for placement of the handgrip either in or out, and my shop manual doesnt mention any adjustment.

I had the same thing happen on my GS only after a stupid right side drveway drop. I called ThrottleMeister to check on getting new wax shims as I thought mine were crushed. They told me they no longer use them and all I had to do was move the entire handgrip assembly out 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch to make it make contact again. Low and behold, he was right. Lossen the entire assembly by removing the cover and loosening the set screw that holds it in place and it should move easily. He even e-mailed me a pdf which I will attach.
Hope this helps

Have you fixed your problem yet?
I just installed a ThrottleMeister on my GS w/heated grips. Easy but what a pain. Mine came with a plastic collar (Friction Sleeve) that fits over the throttle tube and under the grip rubber. This is the adjustable part that lets the end cap work.
If you just changed things you may have to have ThrottleMeister send the collar to you. Look on line to see what is looks like.
