undefinedJust had the brakes done on my '02 r1150rt and last evening as I was pulling into Tim Horten's coffee shop a VERY loud thump came from under the bike when I lightly touched the front brake. Sounded like the centre stand coming up.I again tried to repeat and every time the same 'thump' was there. What on earth could that be. I'll be anxiously waiting for some in put. Also new to MOA. TIA, Phil Morris

What on earth could that be.The sound of a truly crappy mechanic cashing your check?

Is it possible that the caliper or the wheel lugs themselves were not tightened all the way? Application of brakes if those are loosened would cause a thump after activation. When it thumps does it wobble at all too?

Figure it out before you ride any more or the next "Thump" could be your helmet hitting the pavement, with you in it!
I had a similar problem with a car and it turned out to be a caliper that wasn't bolted down properly.

Sounds like a loose caliper - have the dealer tow it in at their cost and repair it - don't ride it.

Do you usually ride with earplugs and were you without them at the time? Remember, we have floating rotors and there is a small amount of thump that is to be expected.
