We've had some pretty good movies come out recently. Include Respect in the list if you wish. In my opinion, Faster had better production values than Dust to Glory, and maybe a tighter story to tell. I don't know their respective budgets. World's Fastest Indian looks to be in the same category as Faster.
I haven't thought much about racing since I was eighteen, so it was novel to me that the GP tracks went to lengths to make certain the racers had extensive runoff areas. That's pretty different from Dust to Glory, where obstructions were a significant theme. I suppose that when I'm on the street, my obstructions are closer to Dust to Glory than Faster: utility poles, ditches, and if there aren't ditches, curbs. (My little conceit in the mornings at my favorite curve on the way to work is that 'Valentino doesn't have to put up with this.' And yeah, yesterday showed he can crash once in a while too.)
I've got high hopes for World's Fastest Indian. The limited release sounds like I'll see it when it gets to netflix, or maybe it's a reason for a trip to a major city.

I've seen Faster! but none of the others you mention. I liked it. I laso liked One man's Island, a documentary about a guy who quits his job, sells everything and moves to the Isle Of Man for six months to compete in the TT, simply because it's his lifelong dream.
I LOVED the trailer for this movie:

Can't wait for its release - sometime in December I heard.

I liked Dust to Glory. The footage in the middle of the race with the Johnny Campbell chasing the #2 Honda team was particularly cool. I think the problem was that they simply had too many stories to tell for a 90-minute DVD.

Does that footage include the place where the helicopter shot sees the racer cut over to the beach to make up time on the leader? I was blown away by the shot of the racer cutting over to the beach and zooming down the beach with the plume from the ahead-guy (who stayed on the designated track) in the background.
I sort of wondered whether (1) it was recreated, (2) they knew that the racer had pre-run at the beach, wanted the footage, and the plume from the ahead-guy was a fortunate bonus, (3) just good fortune, or (4) something else.

For a decadent pleasure try the Isle of Man TT dvd. The long version has all the racing classes, including 600cc sidecars! Racing over a 37.75 mile lap is like nothing else on this planet! The onboard camera work is breathtaking.
Thanks "Sam's Roadracing" for the photo. Halmar Video is a good source for TT dvd's if your interested.

Noel,
Check out the deleted scenes and other parts of the DVD. I'm sure 'Johnny Campbell' would have driven that beach regardless of whether he was leading or not. The helicopter was 'HONDA's own. The guy riding at the time (for Honda #2) was a Team USA KTM rider for last years 'Paris-Dakar' Andy Grider, he got the bump off the A-Team right before the race. I'm sure he was saying "hey, look at me beat your best" HA
