Hello,
I ran into a problem this afternoon that costs about $0.10 to fix... If I can get to it again... I was experimenting with the different seat heights (just installed a factory windshield I bought through ibmwr.org and was hoping to reduce wind noise, but more on that some other time). I stopped along the road some 20 miles from home to change to a different setting when I noticed that the nut from the bolt with which the rotating hook mechanism is connected to the arm that moves when the key is turned was missing. I thought: "have to fix this asap, if this bolt falls out I cannot get the seat off any more". But I didn't have a replacement handy. So rode the 20 miles home and wanted to fix this right away. But guess what, I cannot get the seat off!!! :banghead Does anyone have suggestions how I can get to the seat locking mechanism, e.g. with a piece of wire or something? It would be very helpful if someone could post a picture of the mechanism on his/her R1100R here so that I know how to start my fishing expedition... (relatively wide angle top view would be nice...)
Thanks in advance,
Jacco
