Okay, let's pretend for a moment that I'm not thrilled about working on my own motorcycle. I'm willing to do it, but I'd prefer to pay a professional and use my non-riding time to make my own living.
However, there seems to be consensus that shop mechanics cannot tune a motorcycle as well as an owner, because the owner can take more time and has more of a vested interest.
Still, that cannot be a universal truth. Heck, in my own case, mechanical incompetence would have to figure in the equation.
So, how about some praise (and referrals) for excellent mechanics in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, or even Los Angeles county? Who can I trust with my riding pleasure, as well as my life?
And since there's too little praise in the world anyway, go ahead and say nice things about good mechanics in other areas too. Can't hurt...
Thanks, DZ
