At the BMWMOA National Rally in Texas in 1997 I met a couple from New Orleans. They both had grown up there and they both were police officers and I asked about "The Big Easy" and they both said that before the movie "The Big Easy" they had never heard of that name for the city.
Does Hollywood just make up names for cities ?
If so what will hollywood call your city/town, The Big ????? :hide

well, since my town only has about 7500 people in it in the summer (about 50K in the winter, college, go figure) hollywood doesn't have a name for it. but we do have "The Debaser" (as made famous by The Pixies' song) and he's a pretty big guy, i almost hit him with my car once...............

I live in the Dallas area. Hollywood just calls it Dallas, but around twenty years ago some people thought the movie industry would call it home. That didn't really happen.
My home town has yet to be discovered by Hollywood, at least as a named setting. Parts of Forest Gump took place there but were not filmed there.

i've heard austin referred to as "austin" in several films, but i'm pretty sure it was called austin before those movies came out.
