Are the rules or guidelines for these forums posted anywhere? (If so, I can't find them.)

Are personal attacks acceptable here? If not, there is a post I feel should be deleted. If so, I'll post a response to it.

Flash - from what I've seen, when a thread degenerates into personal attacks, it gets sent to the Doghouse.

Flash - from what I've seen, when a thread degenerates into personal attacks, it gets sent to the Doghouse.Thank you for your observation. Does anyone know if we have a POLICY statement somewhere? If so, is it a secret or ad hoc policy or is it available for members/posters to read?

Welcome back Flash!Hiya Mark. It's been an interesting summer. A week long binniz trip to Boston followed immediately by a trip to the IoM for the TT, a trip to Asia with my son, a weekend in Amish country + Hershey and one two thouand mile motorcycle weekend, one week after getting my bike "totalled" by a Saturn car while stopped at a light. Eleven hours after arriving home after riding 1060 miles from Idaho to Colorado in a day, I flew to Portland, OR, back over where I'd ridden, on bidniz for a couple of days.

That ol' F650 takes a lickin' and keeps on kickin'. I'll ride it to the Chain Gang rally in Arkansas called "the Jailbreak" in a of couple weeks, another 2000 mile weekend.

Oh yeah... I went to Denver last Friday night to see the Iron Butt Rally checkpoint number one. I'm thinking of heading back down for the finish.

BTW... one caption suggestion for the photo on the left was, "A very bad case of cancer of the possum scraper." (That's the Saturn's front bumper.)

It looks like your bike took a hit, but more importantly are you okay?

I like the way the F650 "captured" the bumper. Great evidence!

You planning on Shelbyville, TN in Oct? I'll be there. :wave

I like the way the F650 "captured" the bumper. Great evidence! You planning on Shelbyville, TN in Oct? I'll be there. For a moment, when I saw him backing up as I was getting up off the deck, I thought he was gonna run. But I realized I had his tag number... on the tag, attached to the bumper stuck in assend of my bike. Luckily, a pal of mine with a camera phone happened by about two minutes after the hit. I'll be getting a nice, fat, check in the mail next week for the "totalled" bike that I'm already riding again.

I'm 99.44% fine. My net injury was a "skier's thumb." It's getting better. I opened a jar of pickles with it the other night.

No Shebbyvul for me. Our IoM TT fortnight (http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=15oiw03f.5wwkdi4j&x=1&y=-v5hw0i), two weeks in Asia and a few long weekends have (or will) pretty much burn my allotted vacation time down to zero by the end of September (while allowing for the xmas week plant closure when we MUST take vacation).

Pic of Britten from Flash's album.... Kodak won't let you reference it...

SWEET!

By any chance, was this bike ridden... or on display? (The tires look for-real...)

Nice album.

Bad wreck. Glad you're ok.

And there is a written policy somewhere... I actually think you "agree" to the terms of use during the process of registering for the forum.

FWIW, screw the person attack and the attacker. It's all BS.

{Britten} SWEET! By any chance, was this bike ridden... or on display? (The tires look for-real...) Nice album.Thanks. The Britten was merely on display. I didn't realize (until it was too late that they were flogging a book on Britten. Woulda bought it had I known.

Bad wreck. Glad you're ok.

I stopped for a stale yellow light (in a very light rain) and the Other Guy didn't. Another two or three feet and he woulda. I wasn't watching my 6 because I was more concerned about my front tire hitting the wet, rubber, crosswalk lines at the very end of the stop. We were pushed forward and then the bike was yanked out from under me. I went over the bars as the bike went down. Actually, there was very little REAL damage. Other than kicking stuff back straight, I replaced the hyper-extended shock (with an Ohlins I had on the shelf) and the bent Givi bag mounts with new ones.

And there is a written policy somewhere... I actually think you "agree" to the terms of use during the process of registering for the forum.

RIGHT! But WHERE is that? I saw it once. It'd be nice to refer to now and then, wouldn't it?

FWIW, screw the person attack and the attacker. It's all BS.

It is all BS. Yup. Very true words.

... perhaps we should make that link a little more prominent?

Also would be useful to place a link in the FAQ (that's where I looked first when attempting to answer Flash's question...)

Yep. When we moved the site, we wound up with the standard FAQ. We're looking to add some items to it, which will include the posting guidelines.

I just put hyper-lites on the back of my RS, that's one of my biggest fears around here.. well, that and deer.. and no, not afraid of getting rear ended by a deer..

Glad your Okay Flash.
Where are we supposed to post the derogatory comments about you? I didn't know there was a specific location. Actually I wish we had a few other members that had contributed as much to the club as you have ( in your own cute, loveable way)
