The round BMW symbol badge on the tail piece of my K75C is lifting up and is beat up. It appears to be thin aluminum with a sticky back, it is 6 centineters in diameter.

I's appreciate a source for this. I searched a bit on line, but did not find the right one. I don't care if it is not exactly authentic to the particualr model, I just want it to fit and be a round BMW badge (not a sticker.)

Thanks,

Dean

Any BMW Dealer will provide you with every part for that bike.

Your dealer will have one and it'll only be a few bucks. They get yellowed after a while and require replacement.

There just isn't a dealar near by, but I'm sure I can buy it over the phone or online from them.

The tank badges ARE yellowed, but they look to be pretty firmly attached. Any good tricks for removal? Or do I just carefully pry up an edge an pull it off with pliers?

The tail badge is smaller than the tank badges. Looking at Max's online fische, I was not able to find that tail badge. The tank badge is listed, but shown as no longer available. The tail badge is about 1/16" larger than the tank badge for an R1150R. That might work.

Squirt lighter fluid on the adhesive while peeling it off slowly with pliers.

I would phone to aske for the emblems though. It appears they use different ones now. I replaced mine last year without any problems.

I've used fishing line to cut the badge off by ripping through the foam that holds it on. GooGone gets the extra spooge off pretty nicely.

Use a heat gun on Low, or a hair dryer on High: SLOWLY warm the area (+/- 1" greater) of the emblem. At a temp hot to the touch, but not burning hot, the adhesive will soften & allow you to peel it up; minimal goo remaining. Works for me <<<)))
P.S. This DOES NOT work on saddlebag lids that have 2 layers. I warped the Hell out of a lid doing this. Major PIA thereafter.

Actually you can get those at any BMW dealer. Since BMW did away with the nice cloisonne emblems, cars and bikes all use the same stick-on emblems. IIRC, the rear emblem on your K bike is the same size as the rear deck lid and the tank badges are the same size as the front roundel. (May have that backwards. You can always do what I do, get one of each and put the other two on your toolbox!) Good news is that they're pretty cheap.

yo dean,
your BMW dealer should be able to get you the badge, which is a super stick on logo.
i know that on my 85 k100rs the tail badge is a different size than the tank badges.
Welcom to the forum..I'm new too.

Just replaced mine (2 tank 1 tail) this weekend, used a hair dryer and a credit card to remove the old ones. Replacements are about $7.00 each, or you can get the really nice ones like on the cars for about $15.00 each. Instead of being flat the nicer ones have a rounded chrome edge, but would only be noticable on the tail section.... :wow

A few years back I had my RS repainted and Bob Wark (the Wark Shop, a MOA advertiser) suggested the Cloissnart(?) emblems from the R12C would look nice. They are the same size for the fuel tank, for the tail piece it was the emblem from an LT tour box. Probably the older K100/K1100 LT tour box

These fold tell me they have the badges in NOS for this bike.

Thanks everyone.
