View Full Version : Exhaust Pipe gaskets
At each assembly point of the exhaust system, there are cylindrical, what seem to be paper like gaskets that seal the joints under their respective clamp rings. Are these an absolute must OEM replacement? And if not, what is a suitable substitutes?

Are your refering to the "paper thin" sleeves that are under the clamps where the header pipe clamps to the muffler...???...
Yes...they are aluminum sleeves,purchased through a dealer.
When the sleeves "wearout" or go bad, people confuse the "exhaust leak/ticking" and think their valves/rockers are out of adjustment.
Also there is one underneath the clamp at the "cross over pipe" on the headers, directly in front on the engine.
