Today I noticed that my tail light and brake light were not working. Not a good thing. So, I read the manual about how to check/change the bulbs. I found the tail light, the one that stays on all the time the ignition switch is turned on, was burned out. I changed that bulb and turned on the ignition. It worked AND the brake light worked.

It seems crazy to not have brake lights when the tail light burns out. Is it normal wiring on the K100RS models for this to happen?

More importantly, why didn't your instrument cluster light up to tell you the tail light wasn't working? That's what it is supposed to do. Sounds like something flaky is going on.

Get the K-tail enhancement kit from Run-n-Lites. Then you won't care if one burns out because you'll have three more still illuminated.

The dash lights were not functioning properly. That is how I noticed something was burned out in the rear tail light assembly.

I do have extra lights that flash when the brake is applied. There were not functioning either until the tail light was replaced.
