View Full Version : K75RT Shock fit a K100RT?
All,
I've got a friend with a FYK ('85) K100RT that needs a rear shock. I've got a K75RT shock (from a '93) that I'm ready to send to him. According to the online fiche, these bikes use the same rear shock. Is this actually correct? Eye to eye distance is 13.75".
Thanks for the help.

They are the same piece physically, but the supplier is different. Go ahead and send it.
Jon,
Great, thanks for the confirmation.

Hi Jon (I'll see you for dinner tomorrow :clap )
There are a few small differences (I've had them side by side):
The springs are very slightly different to account for the different weight of the two bikes.
The K75 shock was 1/4" shorter than the K100 shock. Why? Dunno :dunno
Had a friend with a K75 and a fairly ummm... large wife. I had a K100RT (the ORIGINAL FYK BTW..). We got together, measured things - and swapped shocks. I wanted the slightly lighter spring so the shock would compress a bit, he wanted the heavier spring so he wasn't bottoming out too often.
it may have been a year thing also - his K75 was an '86, my K100 was the FYK. The K75 shock measured 13.5" eye-center-to-eye-center. The K100 measured 13.75"
Worked out well for both of us.. :thumb
OK - tomorrow - dinner!
Don
Don,
Thanks. I sent it off yesterday, so I hope it meets the need.
