I thoght I would share a few pictures from last saturdays event. Held at the home of Dale Kuykendal, and attended by scores of central Illinois motorcycle enthusiasts. This is my R27 and Greg Potter's '47 indian Chief

This Vellocette looks fast standing still. I'm not sure on the year or model.

No serious injuries or fistfights, perfect weather and plenty of bratwurst. All in all, a pleasant saturday afternoon.

Jim,
Wish I could have been there. Looked like fun as always. I was confined to the "Ride for the Cure", and coldn't leave -- even if i was about three miles from there.
Maybe we could convince Dale to have his event in conjunction with the RFTC? Get a few more folks to stay around after the ride....
BTW, we had four guys on Whizzers make the 30-mile ride...

PS When was there ever a fistfight there. A disagreement over value-timing on a Velo???

The fistfight reference was a feeble attempt at wry humor. It was a shame you had to miss it. RFTC is a worthwhile cause.

No No, it was my attempt at a wry reply.....

Hey I got it from both of you.... great pictures by the way. Maybe if I get ambitious and restore the ST, I could ride it there. Major thing that sucks is I only get about 100 miles on a tank of gas. I like the adjustable rear suspension on the velocette

Out of town Judge?
Owned by Harley dealer?
"Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy, new tires, new tires, new tires."
Actually I was one of the judges for a bike show and we gave first prize to Mr. Smith's Sunbeam. It is just so perfectly done.
The guy who has the open house at his place has about 30-bikes himself, ranging from a couple of CBX's to a Maytag-powered, rigid frame, 40's-styled motorcycle. And then there's the hot-rod Marusho.

Tom, would this be the Marusho? You know those guys better than I do. What a nice bunch of people.

Yeah, that's the Marusho. You can tell because Dale cut a plexiglass window so he could watch the points go around -- and another for the flywheel...and another for the shaft. That little square thing on the handlebar is an hour-timer from a go-cart...so he can tell how many hours before another engine rebuild....
