I had my bike in for its first service last week (1300K) and asked the dealer to remove the CD player as I would prefer to have a "glove box" than a CD player. When I returned to pick up the bike I was informed that if the CD player was removed, the radio etc would not work, so they had not removed the player. Frankly, I can do without the Radio but the explination seemed weak. Do you think it is possible the dealer dosn't understand the wiring on the new bikes or is there something I am missing.

The CD player also contains the radio module like on the LT. Removal of the CD player results in loss of radio :cry

Why not just satellite radio and an autocom? Yank that heavy radio out and replace it smaller lighter stuff.

Will probably leave on the shelf to gather dust and reinstall when/if I part with the bike.

Got my RT sans radio and CD and instead got the tankbag. Stuff my CD/radio right in there and it's an easy hook to my Chatterbox. I figure I can run the cord to the left front power outlet. Couldn't see that much money for radio/CD. I'm just cheap :D

I wanted the bike and took it the way it was equipped. it was the first bike to arrive in our area. No regrets.
