Here is a picture of my boyfriends 1986 K100RS.

Over here it's not every day you see a bike with 300 000 kilometres on the clock - not every week - as in fact this is the only one I know of over here! :-)

But in the in the small country over there I guess it's not that rare?
You got more space, more roads and in the south you got more summer.
A little more summer helps! :-)

Liv.

Bikes with that many miles aren't common anywhere! Congratulations to your boyfriend!

But not for the 300 kkm on the bike, for the choice of girlfriend! (assuming HE had SOME say in the matter).

Face it, many guys & girls are not lucky enough to have a partner that supports their hobby or passion enough to post a photo or even "pretend" to be excited about such a milestone in a person+bike's history!

And if YOU like to ride as much as your boyfriend, again congratulations are in order for him!

Once you have traveled every road contrived by man, ride them all again a little slower!

Always good to hear things like this happen. Congratulations are in order. Who says bricks dont fly. PS: send the seat maker a thank you card, autographed photos are good advertising. Maybe you will get a "free be"

Thank you, all of you! :clap
It is nice to read all those replys!

I was thinking you may want to know a little of the story:

The K100 is not his first bike, but it is his first BMW.
The bike, 1986 K100RS, was in the store the first summer, but in 1987 a doc bought it. He rode it for only 10 000 kilometres.
Then in the fall in 1989 my boyfriend Knut bought it from the doc.

Some years later he bought a seat from Corbin, a good seat - as I can tell from the rear part; I have been sleeping there for a lot of kilometres! And last year he needed to give it a new cover, so now it's ready for a couple more kilometres! :brow

He has been in UK and a lot of countries in Europe, and when we meet 9 years ago, he bought a top box - we needed room for my beauty bag! (Yeah, right!)

When I meet him I knew what his hobby was, and that was mine too, but I did not have a bike then. Well, actually I had a bike, if you can call a 1979 Vespa Bravo a bike? I still have it! :heart I can't sell my first bike!

The fall 2002 I bought the Scarver, and now I ride with him and he teach me things. I have a lot to learn!

And this summer we are going to the UK! Two BMW's, and they do not look the same; one old 300 000 black brick, and one new (newish?) 20 500 blue thumper! I'll be weeeery surprised if we meet a couple like us! :brow

:wave Cheers! Liv.
