Just wondering whats up with the carbs being canted slightly inward( tops tiped toward the bike a little). Have noticed them in pics like that. What about just having them perfectly vertical. Any theorys on differences in fuel flow or things of that nature regarding canted-v-Vertical??

Theoretically, the carbs should be level so the floats are level and therefore the fuel level is correct in the bowls.
However, the carbs can be tipped slightly without causing any problems--assuming the floats move freely and the bowl gaskets seal correctly. The jets are along the centerline of the carbs, so a slight tilt doesn't change the fuel level at the jets.
Tilting the carbs in has a couple potential advantages. The throttle cables don't rub on the tank, and the carb flange is less likely to ding into your leg.
However, tilting the carbs in also tilts the bowls out, so if you have clearance problems already with your boot, the best compromise is level. I have big feet, so I set mine level. I'm also using alchohol-proof floats and bowls.
