So the weather has almost broken. I was all set to go for a quick little ride for coffee to meet Iron Mike this morning, but then remembered that they tore up the road in front of my house. So instead of having a big drop at the end of my driveway for the "gutter" I now have a three inch drop off the end of my driveway to the gravel.

Down isn't so bad, but I am not so sure about up.

Drat!!!!

Just make sure you meet it straight, and at just the right speed.

You may also want to consider going out with a shovel and making a little dirt "ramp" specifically for your 'cycle. It wouldn't need to be wider than a foot or so. It wouldn't really hurt the construction efforts, either.

I hear ya, though. We had all of our curb and gutters redone 2 years ago in front of my house. The contruction folks actually put the little dirt ramp in themselves in front of houses, about 1 car wide, just so folks could get in and out of their driveways without a huge bump.

Just hit it at a 90 degree angle and gun it. To do anything else would be much less than manly. :brow

You could chamfer a short length of 2 x 6 and butt it against the edge of the driveway. We are all about solutions here.

Who can forget the construction outside of Spokane last year where they had mile after mile of fresh tar. Take heart, it could be worse.

You should have been practicing wheelies all last summer and you'd be set!:D

Actually, I learned in my off-road training you don't have to even think about any obstacle less than half of your suspension travel. I think 3" would qualify. Just hit it at a 90 degree angle and try to unweight the front end as much as possible.
