how do you like the windshield gizmo? who made it? can it go off and on easily or is it on there "permanently"? did you install it or hire it done? only people who ride Special Ed bikes can possibly understand.

Nice Ride! :thumb I always liked the looks of that bike!
It seems that your riding buddies can't wait to go riding on their own! :D :D

Is a Z-Technik, I believe that it is the same as BMW's touring screen (at half the price). I bought it with the bike, and had the shop install it; it is a "permanent" mount, to aggravating to try and take it off for short term. It works really well, lots of highway mileage so far, and it has been a champ.
The smaller guy threw a tantrum when I tried to take him off the bike, thankfully they are both my friends' kids, and I got to ride away from that.

BMW's touring shield is made by National Cycle, though your's does look very similar.

Z-Technik is National's BMW specific brand. They have a number of aftermarket parts, a lot of which will not void your BMW warranty. Some parts are not available in the U.S. though.

Are you telling me that you can void your warranty by installing a "BoBo 2000" screen on it? Are we required to wear BMW pants, too? :)

I am referring, of course, to their aftermarket exhaust(s). There may be other items, but I have not been to their website lately.
FWIW, if I could afford the BMW pants, I would wear them. Until then my good old Levi's will have to do.

Was just kidding...
(Nice bike by the way...)
Actually, I'm planning to buy my first pair of BMW pants tomorrow. Anything bad about the summer pants that I should be aware of? IMHO, they look nice and sound ideal for the soon-to-arrive >90-degree days in the DC area. :drink
Good weekend to all,

Nice new bike, I like the windscreen, and I see you got the bags as well. A guy I can relate to.
Enjoy! :clap
