My RT12 whenever I put it up on the centerstand, with the engine running and in neutral gear, the rear wheel turns at slow speed.
Also when I am on a flat and smooth paved road, stopped at a light, I feel like the bike "pushes" a little to the front. More it feels when I am stoped with a little downhill slant.
Any others with the same thing?
The rear wheel turning while on the center-stand with the engine running, is 100% normal.
As far as the bike "pushing" while stopped on a flat and level surface, well, me thinks you are imagining things....... :wave
What you feel, could be the opposing pulses (forces) generated from the engine. :dunno

I would check the clutch adjustment it might not be releasing all the way.

I donīt think it is only a feeling, it actually makes the bike roll very very slow on a zero slant, very soft, surface. While in Neutral Gear waitting for the green light, then I have to press the front brake lever.
The clutch does not play here since the bike is in neutral gear and if the clutch is pressed then the effect stops
I think what RT DOG was implying, was that the clutch lever on your bike is not properly adjusted.
Make sure that the clutch lever is adjusted in such a way, that when it is released, it is fully disengaging the clutch itself.
If you have any doubts as to the cause of if your clutch lever isn't adjusted properly, get your bike in to a BMW dealer and have them check it out. :thumb

I just went out and checked my 2005 R1200RT with 350miles on it and yes when it is on the center stand the rear wheel does turn slowly when in neutral. However, when stopped on a flat surface on a paved road it does not move forward, nor do I have the sensation that it is trying to move forward.

Having test rode a new R1200RT the other day I think I can eliminate this problem...you just need to trade me your bike for my 2000 R1100RS...hey it doesn't surge.. :clap
What would a clutch adjustment have to do with being in neutral with the clutch engaged?
Constant-mesh, helical cut gears. Probably just a tight clearance transmission
that will seat-in. Ask your dealer if changing to Red Line gear lube will affect the warrenty. I know that new automobile transmissions that use Dexron-4 will drag like hell in you put 90-140 in them. i think it will go away on it's own. :thumb

dano was right I was implying that the clutch was out of adjustments. I just assumed when he was at the stop light he was stopped with the bike in gear. And to me that sounded like an out of adjusted clutch like it wasn't releasing all the way. He later replied with this...........donīt think it is only a feeling, it actually makes the bike roll very very slow on a zero slant, very soft, surface. So you are right mikethebike the clutch doesn't apper to be the culprit.

Do I have to give you money? Or just swap them even?

Thatīs right, I agree with you, that is what I was trying to explain!

If your bike wants to inch forward, while it's running and in neutral, while on a smooth, flat surface.......
there's something wrong and I don't have a clue......... :dunno
and I have to assume that you knew that already..... :D
But wait....does it "do it" while the engine is both cold and hot? :brow
With the bike in neutral, and while the bike is trying to push forward, pull the clutch. Does the bike still pull forward?
1) If no, there is drag in the transmission, and let's continue this interesting discussion.
2) If yes, you are imagining things and I predict this thread will quickly end.

If the bike is running and in neutral......dragging clutch or not.....it should not creep forward.
But....if the clutch infact was dragging, (not completely dis-engaging) and you engaged 1st gear, the bike would either lurch forward, or die altogether.....depending upon the degree of clutch slippage.
At least it doesn't sound like he has a surging problem...... :clap

When I am stopped, engine running IN NEUTRAL, it pushes (a little) and if I pull the clutch, then the forward push STOPS

I have to agree that it is probably a tight tranny and will go away soon. You are just breaking in that tractor.

Ah yes......another BMW "quirk"........... :banghead
The "list" is never-ending......... :cry
Better tight than loose anyday! :clap
