It appears that the previous owner of my R1100RS altered the stop position screws on my throttle bodies from the factory setting. It appears that the TPS setting has not been altered.

Does anyone know of a method of ensuring (measuring) that both throttle bodies are equally closed (no cable tension) so that the when the cable is adjusted, they both open and close equal amounts? I guess what I am asking for is help in determining a method of ensuring I have a proper starting point so that I can then go forward with the BBS idle adjustment and then the proper syn with the cables. :dunno

Any and all help would be appreciated.

From what I have read when adjusting the throttle bodies that you would pick which side you would adjust and leave the other side alone. If how ever your not sure if the throttles are both closed you could loosen up both sides then remove slack from one side and then do the adjustment on the other side to get them in sinc....Unless I just totally misunderstand what your question is. :dunno

all you need to know- and if it says "rob lentini" after it, it's got to be good!

I would check to see how many turns it takes to close your brass screws. If the TBs are synchronized for idle at about 1100 RPM and both screws are about 1.5 turns open, I would leave the stops alone. While you are at it, remove the brass screws and clean their points to make sure they are both metering properly. All you have left to do is adjust the right cable so that both throttles open together and stay synchronized to, say, 3000 RPM.

There could be some other subtlety about the throttle stops, but I can't think of anything. Why do you think the previous owner adjusted the stops?
