battery is fully charged, turn the key on and you get all the normal noises. head light on, fuel pump pumps etc. hit the starter and it sounds like it tried to crank the motor over for a moment then stops cranking.
I ride year around ( give me a dry road and sun [Connecticut]) last time I used the K, I stopped at a car wash and hit it with a high pressure hose, motor running, to clean it up.

Does the headlight go off when the starter quits? If so, does tapping on the starter or rocking the bike back and forth while in gear make the headlight come back on? If you answer these two questions for me I'll be able to tell you more.
