Oil Leak on K75S. Help!

How do I fix this kind of oil leak?
Don't look at the oil filter cover.. I fixed that problem already.
This one is the hex bolt up in the corner at the same level as the manifold bolts behind the water pump.
I cleaned it up after these photos and it's dripping fresh oil.

Get a belly pan back on the bike - it hides many little blemishes :brow

The bike was in for a new front tire and front wheel bearings today at
SJBMW and I had them look at the oil leak. The mechanic said he
tightened up the bolts.. said they were a little loose. Looked at the
area after I rode home and it looks a bit dryer than the previous
drip. I think I'm going to leave it for now because I'm riding up to
the Canadian border on Wednesday to do some visa paperwork.
I received a nice compliment today... The SJBMW mechanic took the K
for a test ride and said it was the best running K75 he's ever ridden.
He was amazed at how well it ran. :D

This is one of those "they all do that" - at least to some extent if you've ever had the bike lifted by the oil pan (like for a spline lube..)

There is no gasket on the top of the sump (which is where your drip is) - just a sealant. It can be damaged a bit by the weight of the bike when you lift it by the oil pan.

Your mechanic did the right thing - usually retorquing the sump bolts slows it down or stops it. The real fix - remove and reseal.

Same thing happened to me 10 years ago, same repair fixed it.
I lifted the bike last year from the engine (forgetting about what it did last time) and it did it again. Sealed it again and its dry. I now have a electric hoist in the garage that I can lift with in the future, so it wont happen again.

Tighting the bolts helped only for awhile in both cases for me.
