Has anybody replaced the right and/or left throttle cable(s) on an '03 1150RT and if so how hard is it to access the Bowden cable distribution box? Do I need to remove the battery box or air box? :dunno

Not sure about an 03 but I just changed mine on a 95 GS and I cracked a fuel line when I removed the throttle bodies to get to the drum were the cable connects.. :doh
Make sure if you remove the TB to pull the clip off the fuel line and pull the line from the injector.
I have to replace a fuel distributor now and its a bear to get too.
Good Luck!

I own an '03 RT.
And.....from what I have heard, it's no cakewalk to replace the throttle cable. Correct routing seems to be a big deal as well. If you don't get it exactly right, you will have problems.
Most say to replace the cable at around 25-30K miles or so. Seems kind of soon to me, but who knows for sure.
What I do know is, I'll probably wait until I have some other service needs done than have the cable replaced at that time as well.

Silly me, I should have known that. Actually, it was not too bad. It took about six hours and I learned alot about my RT while doing it so it was worth it. I now have a bike that runs better than new after syncing the TB's from scratch with a Twin Max and tweeking other adjustments. L8R :thumb
