Specifically I am wondering if anybody makes an aftermarket underseat exhaust?

What is it you are trying to accomplish?

If you want more HP, the consensus seems to be that you will not get much, if anything, from an aftermarket exhaust.

If you want better sound, try it without any muffler at all. You will get a sound that is a bit "throatier" without being much louder. It is amazing how quiet this bike is w/o a muffler.

If you want more room for a full size left case, you can either get an exhaust lowering kit or pull the muffler.

To my knowledge no, and I have looked. The closest thing I have seen is an underseat exhaust available through Jesse Luggage for the R1150GS. The system is made in Germany and runs about $850.00 if I remember right. Should be adaptable to 50R. Other options involve adapting parts into one system. Various pics have been seen on the old R1150R.net site at various times.

On the surface you would think you could adapt a S exhaust system and turn the key. Have never seen it done. Tried to buy a used S exhaust system a couple of times on e-Bay but you wold not believe the price they went for.

Good luck, let me know what you find out or come up with.

There certainly is no consensus when it comes to aftermarket exhausts and what they will or will not do for you. My observations are that the people who have not tried one say they do nothing for you and the one's that have stepped up to the plate and installed one, like myself, know that most aftermarket exhausts increase smiles per mile and greatly enhance our riding experience. Remember though, the louder the pipe, the shorter the d..k.
