Last evening (4/14) on the 10 PM news, I caught a comment on ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, AL, about legislation going before the Alabama Senate ... I think, today.
The particular bill would prohibit the use of a “video screen” in a vehicle in a way that the driver could view it. The news blurb naturally showed a guy watching a movie on an in-dash screen.
My first thought was, “No kidding. No body who is driving needs to be watching a movie.”
But “video screen” can take in a lot of territory, and this morning, I am trying to think in terms of how a government committee could foul up something beyond all repair.
We need to be sure the bill exempts navigational aids, i.e., GPS units.
So I am encouraging you to contact your state Senator and help assure the bill is limited to things like movie devices.
Thanks,
Rick
