It's past time to replace both front disk rotors on my K75s so I've been looking for alternatives to BMW OEM parts. Spiegler sells rotors that they install on the BMW carriers. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of Spiegler rotors in general and how well they perform and tlast?

Positive and negative feedback is welcome.

I don't have any experience with Spiegler, but don't buy the EBC's. They make a great bolt-on floating rotor that works perfectly.....for 10-20K miles. Then the rotor buttons either get sloppy (my left disc) or tight (my right disc) and are unrebuildable!! It was a disappointment, because they sure were sweet for those first couple of years.

I talked to Spiegler (at least the US representative) at length when I thought I had recurring rotor problems (it was actually the wheel bearings, and for some reason K75S's are particularly sensitive to worn bearings).. and a few things I gleemed from them:

1. You're off the road while they install their rotors on your carrier. They insisted on this since they wanted to true up your carrier before the rotors went on.

2. They are a ductile iron rotor - which I believe means they're gonna rust. If appearance is important to you - these are probably not the rotors for you. If performance is important - then they may be (iron is generally a better rotor material than stainless steel.)

I'll also add that "Braking" rotors - a semi-floating design are probably an OK rotor, but have a fairly high iron content for stainless steel, and they WILL rust if you put the bike away wet - where the pads contact the rotors. This may cause some pulsing until the rust gets worn down. They are about the least expensive - but from what I've heard, their customer service leaves something to be desired.

No experience with ECB rotors..
