Help,
I have just been given a job assignment that takes me to Hawaii with, lo and behold 3 days off, in the middle of the week. I would like to rent a GS if I could find one, my buddy likes HD's but that seems to be no problem.
Any help out there for a lone GS guy in a (seems like) HD world?

Thanks

Tig

A few of the rental places rent sportbikes. There are scooter rentals everywhere. Don't rent a scooter. I did a couple of years ago when I was there in August. I put about 200 miles on it. But...it was way underpowered. It would only go about 42 mph with my fat butt on it and that wasn't fast enough to be safe. :banghead Most of the major roads on Ohau are posted 45, but the traffic moves at 55-60 and the scooter was just plain dangerous for me. I was lucky that no one ran me over. A couple of times I was passed and the car was only inches away from me.

A bike is a great way to see the island. Go for it. Rent a Harley if you must, but do it. :wave

Try South Seas BMW 808-836-1144. They're in the ANONYMOUS book.
If they dont rent them, they might be able to point you in the right direction.
Be sure and get a picture by a Hawaiian landmark or welcome sign with the bike. That's gotta be the hardest state to get out of all 50. :thumb

Forget the bikes and go windsurfing! Hawaii is a mecca for the sport and offers boocoos of training sites. It's a new obsession that can't be beat. Pretty soon you'll be craving days with the wind blowing 25-30 and jumping the waves--it's low altitude flying! When the wind dies, then hit the pavement again...... :thumb

Take the bike option. No way anyone is going to be jumping waves with a three day pass. Try the the north shore and head for sunset beach. GS would help but put a few dents in harley chrome if you have to.
