ABS Noise. Is this normal?

My 99 RT is making a strange noise on hard braking. I've only had it for 3,000 miles or so but when I brake HARD using front and rear brakes the bike makes a loud clunk sound almost the same coming from the transmission as if I was downshifting. The ABS works great, bringing me to a smooth stop though. Is this sound normal? :dunno
