I have a 77 R100RS that I just put stock handlebars on. The bars that were on her were higher and wider and swept back a tad. The stock ones are the narrow flat ones. Since installing the stock bars, I am getting some sticking throttle cables. I have tried to route them every which way I could. I can get her to start and run fine, but after she warms up they start to stick a little and I have to use to brakes to slow the engine when I come to a stop. I am supposing that I need new cables for two reasons: 1)to be shorter, 2) so they will slide better in the sheaths. Is this correct? AND What cables do I need? On Bob's BMW site, they have the sets with two cables coming out of the throttle for the two carbs, but separate them into ones for US bars and Europa bars. Help.

You might want to make sure that the throttle assembly is not too far in on the bar, if it gets near the bend that causes the throttle to bind. Also if you disassembled the assembly make sure that the inner and outer gears are aligned, only one position works. FYI the boxerworks board gets more responses and they know just about answer.
