I can tell you that they were all 1984 models, although that could mean production in '83 and '84. They should have all been registered as '84 models.

It's nothing but a paint job and some decals for the sidecovers.

The truly collectable "Last Edition" will be offered along with the "certificate" the first purchaser received at time of purchase. Maybe even the helmet received for free sometime later when it turned out they weren't going to be last after all.

There were RS, RT, and CS Last Editions. I'm unsure whether there were also R100 (no fairing) versions.

The 1983 "60th Anniversary" models (RT only) looked very similar, but the pinstriping was different.

You can find most of the frame number data here:

Thanks for the replies..

I have a Last Edition RS that I know is original as I bought it in 84 and I have the certificate for it. Last year I bought an RT on Ebay and it has the sitckers on the side panels and that's about it. It's build month is 11/83 so it has the right age..... It is a long term project bike and it is in prettry sad shape. The RS has the blure red pin stripes and the RT has red/silver pin stripes.

I had this idea of getting one of each once upon a time but I'll probably run out of time. I'll keep looking and and maybe I'll find a CS I can afford. I saw one 5 or 10 years ago in Vermont but couldn't afford it at the time.

Eckhard.

Red/silver pinstripes "sounds like" a 60th Anniversary Special, but I agree the production date is a little late for that.

Like Kent said,
Silver is the inner pin stripe color and red is the outer stripe. I had an '83 60th Anniversary model RT. Have a huge picture of it at the Grand Canyon here on my wall. :)
