well im in the market for a r100rs and have been in contact with a few potential sellers. i owned a 84 for about 9 months and the only thing i remember about it besides the great weather protection was that the position was a little extreme for me, im sure 6 years on my old body wont make it any less so now. does anyone have any experience with riding on with bar backs? the one that im very interested in has this option. im 6' tall for a reference point . anything that i should look for on these bikes that was a problem? my favorite one right now is a 81. thanks greg

Attached is a link to a Wudo handlebar that sells itself as the highest and widest bar that will fit in the RS fairing.
The K75S handlebars are also a common comfort modification used on the RS with the same effect as bar backs

I have bar backs on my RS and I love 'em. My hands were going numb on long trips from all the weight on them. With the bar backs, that problem is gone. I custom modified the ones I got so that my stock top fork clamps and the dash pad could still be used. I am 5' 10". The only negative is that you are now up higher and in the airstream, so you will get more noise and buffeting than the stock bars. Overall, though, I am very pleased with them (I've had 'em on for a few years), and have no intentions of ever going back. If you don't like 'em it's an easy switch to get the bar back to stock.
