Boy I was so amazed riding my brand new RT12, I took it out for 3 consecutive days to make the 1,000 kms required for the first oilservice & valve adj. etc.
But...
Yesterday I went rolling to keep on the break-in process, with plans to go for a 5 or 6 hour ride into nice twisties.
And guess what!
My new RT failed! It stalled just like if it had no fuel! Thank God it was right in front of a 7eleven and a phone booth. Just a "CHECK" message in the dash display.
I called 1-800 number (on-the road aid from BMW) They were very kind, they sent a toll truck with plataform and droped me and bike at home and offered that next monday will send another to take it to de BMW dealer workshop to see what is happening.
When it failed I started taking pices of plastic body apart to try to find the cause of the problem but I see this new generation of BMWs have only one reminiscent of old motorcycles (the engine) but everything around it is electonic.
I hope I can have it ready by thursday cause I plan to go to Mazatlan rally, the only thing is that it leaves my confidence a little weak since I plan to do a long trip to South America where there is not much BMW dealers.
I will follow the story with the results of diagnostics.
