Attended the Finger Lakes rally this past weekend - great rally as usual but could have done without the cold wet weather on Monday morning. We were talking and many of my friends and I remember the remnants of a hurricane that went through Watkins Glen during the rally maybe three or four years ago. We didn't get the high winds that were predicted but it did rain (absolutely straight down) for 28 hours straight. Anyone remember the name of that hurricane and the year? I'm kinda thinking it was a Spanish sounding name.

Ernesto, 2007.
To quote Diann, been there, done that, got the T shirt.
Actually Diann has both 2007 shirts, the original, and the 2007 shirt she bought in 2008 that has "I survived Ernesto" (or similar) on it.
This year we looked at the forecast and decided to go camping in northern Ontario instead..............Regards, Rod.

Thanks, Ernesto, err, Rod. It was driving me crazy. :banghead
And I was right about the Spanish name. Maybe I'm not so old afterall.

I remember that one ! I had talked 4 other people into it in advance and it was a wet one. Three of those folks will not make long range plans with me anymore, ha ha like it was my fault. It was too darn hot Saturday at last weeks FL Rally but we made the best of it and did some riding. Light turn out this year, as has been same since 2007 rain. People remember the bad aspects I guess.

Ernesto was 2006.
The little babbling stream rose about 8 feet and raged like a monster.
The Finger Lakes Rally this year was great again, as usual.
Yes, it rained on Monday, for a wet ride home, but that's life.
It was hotter than normal though.
Finger Lakes does this to me no matter what. :dance:drink
