Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a good repair manual for a 2009 G650GS. Thanks in advance for your help.
You could purchase shop manual from BMW, expensive, or, Haynes. Haynes covers up to year 2007, $42 new I think or look on Amazon. Good enough to work from. Lots of good tech online.

The only Haynes manual I found was for the 2009 F650GS. No manual for a 2009 G650GS. I'll try another search, may have overlooked the manual for a G. I'm new to BMW engines and not sure I want to dive into some basic maintenance (i.e. oil change) without the proper manual.
I posted the Haynes covers to 2007. There is nothing after, yet. The 09 is basically an 07 in most all respects. There was no 08 and 10 models I believe did not change much other than looks. The F's oil change was different, but not so much you could not figure out or perform, there was a drain plug up front in the frame. On your G, sump plug and drain the tank. Remove sump plug and drain. Remove fairing covering tank and drain. Oil filter above sprocket. Three bolts, make sure to put some good absorbant rag directly below and move the wire out of the way bfor removing. Only a small amount comes out, not even an eigth of a cup, but messy. Wipe clean, install new filter with new oring, lube oring with a touch of oil, and install filter. Replace sump plug with new crush ring. Make sure replace oil tank. Oil filter bolts 10nm/7.37ftlb. Sump plug 40nm/29.5ftlb. This how I do mine hope it helps.

FYI, there is no 2009 F650GS, that became the G650GS. And as Rik says the 2009 G650GS is very very close to the 2007 F650GS. The latest model of G650GS has changed a lot more stuff. I ended up with the BMW shop manual, that is listed for the 2009 G650GS and the is G650GS listed anywhere on the CDR itself, just the aforementioned F650 stuff! :banghead
