Yesterday came to a stop sign, shifted into first, let clutch out of my '76 R75/6 and it wasn't the usual smooth transition from stop to second gear. It kinda felt like the clutch was slipping but more of a clunking, chunking feel. the rest of the gears were smooth with no noise or funky dreadful feel. Anyone that has had the same problem, I would appreciate your most helpful expertize on what this probably is. I was thinking chipped 1st gear, but wouldn't that screw the rest of the gears? Could I just need an adjustment or am I looking at a trans replacement? Any help on this would be kindly taken, and appreciated. TIA, Karl

Or bad trans input shaft splines.

Might just be a loose nut holding the drive bell to the drive shaft.

Still not sure why. Will take it up to a local mechanic and let the pro take it for a spin and make a determination. I guess there are no easy fixes when you need one... Thanks again fellow MOAers.
