:dunno Hello,
Wise and wonderful forum members. I'm a relatively new owner (1 year) and need a little help. I know this is a regular question, but......I need a new battery and front tire for my 85 K100rt. Any Recomendations or web sites would be helpful. I know there is some posts on the topic and will promise to read the other threads also.

Forever greatful

Just a word of warning on the Panasonic batteries from Digikey.

And it's not really a WARNING either - just a note.

I have bought 2 batteries from Digikey and the seem to be just a hair taller than the stock BMW batteries.

Now, at first look, that might not seem like a big deal but the two long screws that hold the battery down are not long enough to reach the threads in the base. At least they weren't long enough on MY two K 100's.

I suppose a trip to the hardware store could take care of that.

Other than that, I had no problems with the Digikey batteries.

I have a westco in my '85 K100RS. It was just a little short, had to cobble a spacer to hold the coolant tank in place.

I would recomend trying a Oddessey dry cell battery. They cost a few $ more, but they are smaller, and lighter, have great cold cranking power, a 3 year warranty, and they don't spill or self discharge. I would stay away from all lead acid batteries. I have not had good luck with any of them. Just my 2 cents. :bikes
