I know that some of you aren't genetically pre-disposed to basketball like us Hoosiers, but are you watching this tournament? It is one of the best that I can remember in a long time. The upsets have been awesome!!! My brackets are a total mess, but it's been some amazing basktball to watch.

I watched Friday afternoon's games. I rode my 1150RS to the dealer for service and needed to kill a couple of hours while they worked on the bike. Lo and behold, there was a sports bar right across the street.
One of the owners of the dealership in Ft. Wayne played for Bob Knight at Indiana.
See how all this stuff comes full circle?

Well, now that you asked, No, I'm NOT watching. I'd rather have a colonoscopy than watch basketball.

Yeah, I've been watching. There have been some great games. Although I'd never want a kid of mine to play for Bobby Knight, I admire his coaching skills, and it's been great watching him take his team to the sweet 16. I'll be watching our heartbraking Michigan State Spartans today, but without high expectations.
We were rooting for Cincinnati against Kentucky last night and came out on the wrong end, but it was a great game!

I'm primarily watching the women's NCAA, since coaching girls has been a part of my life for several years.
Gopher women made it past the first round, and will likely make it past the 2nd round Monday.
Oh, yeah, I've also been watching a few of the men's games. I like it when the underdog wins. :clap

You should be able to get some mad cash for that ticket. Kentucky fans are just about as crazy about their basketball as Indiana fans.

It's a sport that actually had a season this year, unlike that thing that you called hockey that used to exist here in the U.S.A. You could always go to Europe though to watch it, where something like 400+ players from the NHL are playing as we speak. ;)

I've heard of the Frozen Four sure, but I don't see endless hours of coverage of that now do I? ;) Seriuosly, I really don't know a whole heck of a lot about hockey. I'm not even sure where the closest place would be to go and play hockey.

I like college basketball, being in the "midwest golden triangle" of hoops. Not much of an NBA fan though.
there have been some great games this year and it looks like one of the better tournaments in years.

I'm not really a huge fan of the NBA either. I used to watch it all the time back in the day when Jordan was still playing for the Bulls, and I do like to watch the occasional highlight on SportsCenter, but thats about it. The thing that I like most about college basketball is that you don't see as much ego as you do in the pros. Look at what happened at Iowa this year. Pierce was a total thug and Steve Alford wouldn't put up with him beating the crap out of his girlfriend or whatever and kicked him off the team. A very different situation than what happened with the NBA's former golden boy Kobe Bryant.

Never expected it, but was hoping for it! I was out riding in our 36 degree gray, damp weather and missed the second half Sunday, when MSU apparently took charge and put the game out of reach. YEAH!

Where do I vote for Fritz for president of anything? :)
Graduated there Dec 91. It's always nice to see my old alma mater do well in sports.
My 2 favorite teams? MSU, and whoever is currently thrashing the Wolverines.

I have been watching many of the NCAA playoff games this year because the University of Illinois is a number 1 seed. :clap This could be their year. But there have been so many upsets because of the quality of all the teams, it is very hard to come out on top.

This morning, the results of the office pool show me out in front with 11 of the sweet 16 among my picks. I have only watched two games, however.
My shame. TWO of my three alma maters have made the sweet 16. Wisconsin, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I had Wisconsin advancing, but did not have Milwaukee to win even one game. I hang my head in shame. :cry The Panthers have been the big surprise of the tourney and I picked them to be gone in the first round. :banghead

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think that anyone thought the panthers were going to make it to the sweet 16. I had them in my brackets with the uspet over 'Bama, because I think that the Crimson Tide is overrated, but I didn't for a second think that they could beat BC. The sweet 16 is going to have some real barnburners, I can't wait until the Louisville game because they have just looked so impressive in their victories. That Francisco Garcia guy is really amazing to watch play.

Yeah, but the guy in 4th place in our pool of about 30 DID pick the Panthers to make the Sweet 16. And he is from Ohio State! Should I root for them on Thursday? I picked Illinois to win it all.
Oh, my shame. :cry

As a UK grad I must say that my beer is starting to get watered down. :drink Must Finish this one and get another one. The Spartans played some great ball tonight and as I UK fan I have to say that we just got beat. :cry We had the opportunity to put it away at the end of the first OT and didn't execute. So goes March Madness. What a great tournament this has been with so many close games. With big Blue out, I must say Go Louisville!!!

GO HEELS, GO!
The Tarheels are a classy team and Roy Williams have them playing Team Ball (we folks in NC have been waiting for that since Dean retired).
My hopes are that the Heels will win the NCAA's and all those Coach K commercials will just dissappear! :thumb

Just to let you all know about my pool results. As previously reported, I had 11 of the sweet 16 and was lamenting not picking UW-Milwaukee, one of my alma maters.
I had 5 of the elite 8 and now have 3 of the final four and a huge lead in the pool. I had picked Duke to beat both Mich. St. and Kentucky. The rest of the way, I have Illinois beating Louisville, and Duke beating UNC, then Illinois winning the final.
Only two other entries are alive. I win if either Illinois or Michigan St wins it all. One of the others has Louisville and the other has UNC.
This is the best by far that I have ever done. Traditionally, winnings are eaten up as the winner buys donuts. :thumb
Mmmmmmmmmmmm, donuts :D

Well, after the first round I was in 2,846,345 place in the ESPN challenge....I have forged into 1,530,000 (approx) place! I am so excited!!
I would have liked to see Wisconsin win as an underdog, but dang, I had them losing in the second round.....
We'll see what happens next Monday

The Cubs and the White Sox are both in first place. It's time for baseball. :thumb

are pretty strong right now, it's not looking good for the Spartans....
I'd like to see Michigan St. win myself. Our own Minnesota Gopher ladies went 26-8 this year. 5 of their 8 losses came from teams in the final 4. They'll be back... ;)
